Description

W. A. Rogers Put the Boche Where He Belongs. c.1917. Food was weaponized in World War I.  Hunger was widespread in the both the German occupied countries and in the winter of 1917-18 Germany itself. Rogers shows Yank throwing a Boche soldier straight into the Rhine feet first.  Hobnail boots stick out of the water – doubtless not meant to be funny but somehow seems borrowed from the comics.Text points out that “muscle, vigor, virile strength, the fighting brain…depend on food.”  16×22 card excellent condition $485.
