Description
Burleigh Team Work c.1917. Wonderful rich lithograph portrays a workman toiling on a gun barrel under a vision of an artillery crew firing a similar gun in action on the western front. Text speaks to the interdependence of munitions works and soldiers with an offbeat limerick “It ain’t the individual or the army as a whole but the everlastin’ team work of every bloomin’ soul.” Very rare. Not in Library of Congress. 40×30 near mint, conservation backed.
