Description

Waddel The Harriman National Bank Urges Faith, Courage and Patience 1918. One of the strangest of all privately printed posters of World War I features a ghostly portait of the railroad magnate and banker Harriman peeking through red stripes that invoke the flag. A female figure, presumably Marianne, leans over a tombstone as carnage fills the middle ground. Very rare. 27×20 near mint, conservation backed.
