R.P. For the Return c. 1925. Sweeping seascape, identified by historian Micky Wolfson, as Oran, features a majestic French ship gliding into its berth in the bustling port. The return symbolized the reemergence of France as an important naval power. Locals were provided jobs by the revived naval activity. Happy natives are seen on shore waving a welcoming hello to the incoming ship. Rare and beautiful. 30×45 near mint, conservation backed.
