Planes shown flying over the Statue of Liberty, her arm now a maimed stump, her head resting in the harbor. A German U-boat skulks nearby. An entire book was written about the genesis of this important poster. Pennell was highly regarded artist; poster in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. 20×30 near mint conservation backed.
