Quaint text reads in part “citizens…invited to the advantages incident on enlistment in the United States Navy. Murphey was serving as Chief Warrant Officer aboard the transport U.S.S. Mallory when it was torpedoed in 1943 with a loss of over 700 men including the artist. Uncommon. 42×28 near mint, conservation backed.
