Description

Howard Chandler Christy: Patriotic League 1918. Christy himself was a patriot extraodinaire, who nicknamed his Ohio home “The Barracks.” The artist hoisted the flag every day and shot off his own canon on the Fourth of July. He was said to cry each time he heard the national anthem. Christy was particularly adept at combining pretty girls with flags. Hard to find. 30×20 near mint, conservation backed.
