Description
5ean Carlu Rewards for Some Death for Others – We Must Abolish Private Arms Manufacturers c.1944. Outstanding very rare poster by top French artist, famous for his inspired simplified graphics. Not only is the design exceptional but the topic is extremely unusual for a World War II poster; questioning private arms manufacturers. Carlu’s design links hands grabbing profits from bomb production and an endless cemetery. Typical of the artist, the central image of the bomb appears to loom toward the surface of the poster as the grave markers tilt away. 31×24 near mint, conservation backed.
