Description
Robert Benny Mission Acomplished 1944. Japanese sailors and planes rain down from the sloping deck of a stricken carrier as it slides beneath the waves bow first. In the foreground the periscope of an American sub just barely breaks the surface as its intrepid captain surveys his kill. Just behind the carrier another Japanese ship goes down in flames. It’s probably a destroyer meant to prevent the catastrophy thats just happened. This enemy carrier may be, in fact, be the Unryu which was sunk by the USS Redfish in December 1944. 13×18 mint, shrink wrapped.
