Artist Unknown Overwhelm the Enemy 1945. A Soviet infantry corporal plants the Red flag atop the Reichstag as he turns toward the camera. The soldier was wearing several German watches but the evidence of this larceny was expunged by the Russian censor. This triumphant pose was typical of Soviet war photography. A parade of T-34 tanks and trucks carrying men is welcomed by the local population as it pours down Main Street unopposed. The T-34 had a top speed of 32 MPH and carried an 88 mm cannon. It was the first tank with sloped armor to deflect bullets. 34×23 near mint, conservation backed.
