Description
Artist Unknown Let’s Go! The Doughboy 1921. Upbeat soldier pictured shouldering his rifle as he summons recruits to join him at an Army Corps area indicated on the map behind him. Issued by the Army Engineers – first reference to Yanks as Doughboys on a poster. It has been argued that American soldiers were called doughboys as they favored the doughnuts provided by the YMCA during the war. Scarce as it was slightly postwar when poster production was slashed. 25×19 near mint, conservation backed.
