The Citizens’ Military Training Camps (CMTC) were summer military training programs. The camps were a defensive reserve force that did not oblige the trainee to join the service. CMTC were authorized by the National Defense Act of 1920. The Corps was was basically a continuation of the Plattsburg Movement of 1915 and 1916, summer training camps for that trained 40,000 mostly socially prominent men. The CMTC trained some 400,000 men from 1921 to 1940. 28×20 near mint, conservation backed.
