Description
Lynch Ammunition 1918. Up close and personal poster. With one hand still holding his Lewis machine gun’s grip and the other outstretched to the viewer, a hard-pressed gunner pleads for more ammo. Empty ammo boxes at his feet illustrate the fact that it takes an enormous amount of ammunition to fire a gun that uses up 500 rounds a minute. The Lewis Gun was one of the war’s most successful machine-guns. Setting strikingly similar to Norman Rockwell’s World War II poster Let’s Give Him Enough and on Time which delivers the same message in the next war. Rare. 30×20 near mint, conservation backed.
