Anon: Y.M.C.A. War Schools c.1919. Text tells viewers to “Fit Yourself for Special Services” by training in the new technologies that were introduced during WWI. These include studying to be an airplane mechanic or instruction for automobile drivers. Classes were also given in the fields of radio, tractors and tanks. These technical specialties were open to noncoms who had been drafted. Illustration shows a radio operator in the field who attempts to contact a plane flying overhead whose gunner fires down on an unseen enemy from an open cockpit in the plane’s nose. The plane’s markings are not those of the U.S. Army’s Air Service but a mysterious enemy. rare,d new to us.44×31 near mint, conservation backed.
