Description
Reid: Pageant of the Women of the Ages. Poster privately printed for the “young women of Armour and Company” shows a Red Cross Nurse helping a battlefield casualty whose rifle still lies beside him. One of the women featured in this pageant of notable women down through the ages is Joan of Arc who is separated from the helpful Red Cross nurse by the text stating that this pageant is being staged for the benefit of the Salvation Army. Above this compassionate scene an angelic figure holds a wreath of laurels to crown the nurse’s heroic efforts. Armour and Company is a large meat packing company that’s still in business today. Very scarce, locally and privately printed. 33×43 near mint, conservation backed.
