Artist Unknown Battle of the Bulge 1944. Photo shows a GI fighting at the Battle of the Bulge. He is equipped with a bazooka which dangles from a strap hanging from his left shoulder. He would have need of it. The Germans attacked American lines with 250,000 men and a large tank force. Extended text for this airborne recruiting poster speaks to the defender’s determination to stand fast. It reads “I’m the 82nd Airborne and this is as far as the bastards are going.” Rare, new to us. 24×16 near mint, conservation backed.
